PEACE Mental Health Workshop at Sambalpur University, Odisha, Inspires Working Professionals

An exclusive event on Mental Health “O Mind! Smile Plzzz…!” was hosted by PEACE Program, the Corporate Workshop Wing of Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), at Sambalpur University, Sambalpur, Odisha, on 31st August 2025.

Held in association with Lions Club Sambalpur Silks, the workshop was attended by over 1000 participants from diverse backgrounds including high-level Corporate Professionals, Lawyers, Senior Advocates, Professors, Vice Chairmen, Academicians, and Doctors, along with various other dignitaries.

Shri Jai Narayan Mishra, M.L.A, Sambalpur Constituency, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Sadhvi Tapeshwari Bharti ji, Principal Coordinator, PEACE Program, led an engaging motivational session titled 'Meditation for Mental Health', incorporating interactive elements.

She explained two distinct models, the human model and the spiritual model so as to illustrate contrasting approaches to psychology. The human model typically depicts general human psychology as being predominantly guided by sense organs and their associated pleasures. In contrast, the spiritual model represents a psychology channelized by the elevated wisdom inherent in soul consciousness.

Through this comparative analysis, Sadhvi ji highlighted two different psychological paradigms. She said that the first psychology often underlies mental health issues, whereas the second offers a sure shot pathway to resolution.

Sharing the solution, she delved into practising the Eternal Science of BrahmGyan’s Meditation to overcome mental health challenges. This is a universally acknowledged practice resonating across diverse faiths and cultures worldwide.

Sadhvi Dr. Nidhi Bharti ji, Co-Principal Coordinator, PEACE Program, also facilitated an insightful session focusing on 'Psychological and Vital Solutions for Mental Health'.

Addressing the nature of the mind, she said, “The mind isn't a tangible entity visible to the eye; yet, its presence is clearly felt and experienced. We operate under its considerable influence owing to its substantial power. But a critical concern arises that this mind becomes susceptible to numerous viruses, resulting in a mental framework resembling a blend of white and black balls. These balls symbolize the coexistence of positive and negative aspects respectively."

Going further, Sadhvi ji underscored strategies for overcoming these mental afflictions, employing practical illustrations, demonstrations, and experiential exercises to convey the message effectively.

She emphasized, “Neither expression nor suppression serves as an appropriate method for eliminating these vices; instead, control is attainable through breathing techniques which are actually intertwined with spirituality or meditation.”

Both sessions were coupled with engaging activities, demonstrations, and experiments. The participants were seen attending the workshop with full vigour and concentration. They were inspired with wonderful life lessons to develop themselves at three levels, Body, Mind, and Soul, so as to cultivate Inner Happiness.
